How do I use a computer for internet and word processing?
We have public computers in the Adult Services area which provide full access to the internet as well as Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint. Access to these computers is free if you have a library card, simply use your library card barcode number to login. You can use the computers for up to two 60 minute sessions per day. If you don’t have a library card, you can buy a Guest Pass for 1 dollar per day at the Adult Services Reference Desk which will allow you one 60 minute session for the day. Printing is available from all computers for a fee of 10 cents per page (or 25 cents per page for color). The computers can read USB drives, and can read using external CD drives. Headphones are provided with each computer for your use.
There are 6 additional computers in the Youth Services area which are available for use by children ages 13 and younger. These computers provide filtered access to the internet as well as Microsoft software.
If all computers are in use, you may reserve a computer at the Reservation Station. You may not reserve a computer over the phone.
Free wireless internet is available throughout the building. There is no password required for access. You may now also print from your laptop using the Remote Printing feature on our library homepage.
